Dental veneers are custom-made, thin shells that cover the front surface of your tooth. They are made of tooth-color materials and can be used to improve the appearance of the teeth if they are:
- Stained or discolored
- Crooked or misshapen
- Broken or chipped
- Or have spaces between them
How it’s done:
Two visits to Dr. Karbassi are typically required to place the veneer. At the first visit, your teeth will be prepared for the veneer fitting. This may include trimming of a portion of the tooth so the veneer can be bonded on top. Second, impressions will be taken of the teeth to send to the lab so that they can prepare the final veneers. Lastly, temporary veneers will be placed to help protect your teeth between visits.
Upon your return to the office, the temporary veneer (if received) will be removed. The permanent veneers from the lab will be checked first to make sure they fit well and the color is right. Any adjustments that need to be made should and will be addressed, and we will make sure you are satisfied with them before bonding the veneer to your tooth.
